Grimbrawl · Privacy
Grimbrawl is a free game made by one developer. It shows no ads, sells nothing, and shares nothing with anyone. This page says everything it keeps.
Play statistics
To learn what to improve, the game sends its server a few numbers about each visit, never about you:
- How the page loaded and ran: load time, frames a second, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer), the system and browser names, the screen size, the language and time zone (for where to put servers).
- The matches played: mode, fighter, place, kills, deaths, length, ping, whether you played again.
- Errors in the page, so they can be fixed.
- Which site sent you here, if any.
The game servers also keep every online match as it was played, to balance the heroes and the battlegrounds: the battleground, how long it ran, and for each seat its hero, whether a player or a bot held it, whether that player had an account (not which), their ping, kills, deaths, damage by move and moves used; and every hero's death (when, by which hero and move, or the hazard or the ring, and where on the battleground). No names. Matches are kept for about a year, deaths for four months.
The game sends no name, account, address, or any id that lasts beyond the page: each visit gets a random number that is forgotten when you close the page. To count how many players come back, your browser keeps three facts of its own (the day you first played, the last day, and on how many days) and sends them with each visit; they start over after 13 months. Statistics are kept for about a year, and only as totals in the developer's report.
Players in Europe are asked first, and nothing is sent until they say yes. Everywhere, statistics are off when your browser asks sites not to track you (Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track), and you can turn them on or off here or under Feedback in the game:
Feedback
What you write under Feedback, or a rating after a match, is kept with the moment it was about (mode, fighter, device, frames a second, ping) and your player name if you are logged in. Please do not write personal details in it.
Accounts
An account is optional. It keeps your player name, a scrambled form of your password (the password itself is never stored), your rating, your matches, and your friends. Your player name, rating and results are shown to other players. To have an account deleted, ask through the Feedback button in the game.
What else
- The server uses your internet address only while you are connected, to limit abuse (too many connections, logins or messages from one address). It does not store it.
- The game keeps its settings, your fighter and your progress in your own browser.
- No cookies, no advertising, no third-party scripts.
Questions: the Feedback button in the game.
